Deleting a contact

2 min read

Deleting a contact removes them from your active records. Deletions are soft — the contact moves to the Recycle Bin and is permanently removed after 90 days, giving you a window to recover them if needed.

Steps

Deleting a single contact:

  1. Go to Contacts in the sidebar
  2. Find the contact in the list
  3. Click the Delete (bin) icon on their row
  4. Confirm by clicking Delete in the dialog

Deleting multiple contacts:

  1. Select the contacts you want to delete using the checkboxes
  2. Click the Delete icon that appears in the toolbar
  3. Confirm the bulk deletion

What happens when a contact is deleted

DataWhat happens

Contact record

Soft-deleted — moved to Recycle Bin, removed permanently after 90 days

Links to clients

Immediately and permanently removed — must be manually re-linked if the contact is restored

Meetings

The contact's name remains on existing meeting records

Client-contact links are not recoverable after deletion. If you restore a contact from the Recycle Bin, you will need to re-link them to their clients manually.

Recovering a deleted contact

Deleted contacts can be recovered from the Recycle Bin within 90 days. Go to Admin → Recycle Bin (Org Admins only) to find and restore them.

Unlinking vs. deleting

If you only want to remove a contact from one specific client — without deleting the contact entirely — use the Unlink option in the client's Linked Contacts panel instead. See Linking a contact to a client for details.
