Editing a transcript
Editing a transcript
Transcripts are generated automatically but may contain errors — misheard words, incorrect speaker assignments, or formatting issues. You can edit any part of a transcript directly within Prospo.
Steps
1. Open the meeting and expand the Transcription panel
Navigate to the meeting record and locate the Transcription section in the middle panel.
2. Click Edit
Click the Edit button in the Transcription panel header. The transcript switches to edit mode.
3. Make your changes
You can edit:
- Speaker name — change who is attributed to a block of text. Select the correct person from the dropdown, which lists all attendees linked to the meeting
- Spoken text — click into any text block and type to correct words, punctuation, or phrasing
- Timestamps — adjust the start and end time for each line if needed (format: HH:MM:SS)
Changes are tracked individually per line so you can see what has been modified.
4. Click Save
When you're done, click Save. Your edits are saved to the transcript and will be reflected wherever the transcript is used — including in AI-generated file notes.
Things to know
- Edits to the transcript do not affect the original recording file
- Correcting speaker names improves the accuracy of AI-generated summaries, since the summary uses the transcript as its source
- If you want to start over, close without saving — your changes will be discarded
