Linking a contact to a client

2 min read

A contact can be linked to one or more clients with a defined relationship type. You can create this link during contact creation, from the contact's detail panel, or from a client's profile.

Linking from the contact detail panel

  1. Go to Contacts in the sidebar
  2. Select the contact from the list
  3. In the right panel, scroll to Linked Clients and click Link to Client
  4. Choose whether to link to an existing client or create a new one:
    • Link existing — search for the client by name, then select the relationship type
    • New client — enter a client name and entity type, then select the relationship type
  5. Click Link Client

Linking from the client profile

  1. Open the client profile
  2. In the Linked Contacts panel, click the Actions button and select Link Contact
  3. Search for the contact by name or email
  4. Select the relationship type
  5. Confirm

Setting a primary contact

Each client can have one primary contact — this is the person Prospo defaults to when sending emails or meeting invites for that client.

To set a contact as primary, tick the Set as Primary Contact option when linking or editing the relationship. If another contact is already marked as primary, Prospo will ask you to confirm the change before updating.

Only one contact per client can be set as primary.

Unlinking a contact from a client

To remove the relationship between a contact and a client without deleting either record:

  1. Open the client profile
  2. In the Linked Contacts panel, click the Unlink icon next to the contact
  3. Confirm the action

The contact remains in Prospo and can be linked to other clients. The client record is unchanged.
